Ziad is a Syrian filmmaker that lives in Berlin.

He has worked as an assistant director fo several films in Syria and directed the documentary films Ay Dil / Oh Heart, The Immortal Sergeant and Taste of Cement, which won many awards in international film festivals, including the European Film Award for Best Documentary Film, the Long Pony Award for Best Director and the Long Pony Jury Award.
